Summer prime-time television is so bad that I'm starting to miss the NBA playoffs. But CBS is really clever tonight. The OFN ("Old Folks Network") is giving us three hours of TV about movies. It's the return of the American Film Institute's Top 100 Movies with a twist: Because this is the 10th anniversary of the original list, AFI has redone it and added films from 1996 to 2006. More mileage from an old list. I like it -- and want a piece of the action. What about sports movies of that 10-year period? Which films should be on a top 10 list? Or is it possible even to have a top 10 sports-flick list from the last decade? Honestly, no -- but we're doing it anyway because it's who we are, it's what we do. Besides -- it's the dog days of June, so work with me. CHEAP SEATS TOP 10 MOVIES, 1996-2006
1

Seabiscuit (2003) -- A long shot becomes a legend -- by taking first place in the Cheap Seats list.
***
2

Friday Night Lights (2004) -- First half is best sports film ever; second half is standard dreck.
***
3

Tin Cup (1996) -- Didn't we see Roy McAvoy last week at Oakmont? McAvoy: "Greatness courts failure."
***
4

Miracle (2004) -- Big Kurt Russell fan and the match against the Ruskies was exciting. Besides, I was watching pro wrestling when the real thing was shown.
***
5

The Rookie (2002) -- Excellent first half but standard cornball ending.
***
6

Jerry Maguire (1996) -- You'd have it higher, but it's not your list. Loses gazillion points for "Show me the money," most overused line of this period.
***
7

When We Were Kings (1996) -- Excellent documentary of Ali-Foreman Rumble in the Jungle but a deduction for Don King's hair.
***
8

Cinderella Man (2005) -- Here's the truth: I didn't see it. But you seemed to think it was good.
***
9

Happy Gilmore (1996) -- Loses points for Adam Sandler, but gets them back for Bob Barker.
***
10

Invincible (2006) -- Best possible from last year. Story of a Philly bartender gone bad.
