Paris - A 14-year-old Norwegian girl has won a trip to Europe's space base in French Guiana after winning a competition to name the most suitable choice of music for astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Therese Miljeteig "came up with a wonderful mixture of songs that are 'out of this world'", the European Space Agency (ESA) here said in a press release on Tuesday. Her playlist will be downloaded onto an MP3 player and sent to the ISS onboard ESA's space freighter, the Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV), in early 2008. She will fly to Kourou to see the launch. This was her selection, which beat out 1 000 rivals from 10 countries:
