Top 5 UK Singles

08/07/2007 by Official UK Charts
Singer Rihanna remains on top of the UK singles chart for an eighth week with Umbrella, her biggest hit to date. The 19-year-old kept Kate Nash in second place with Foundations, while Canada's Avril Lavigne entered at number three with When You're Gone. Dance act the Chemical Brothers went straight to the top of the albums chart with We Are the Night. Take That's Ultimate Collection climbed to five, one of several Concert for Diana acts to enjoy a sales benefit. Elton John's Rocket Man - The Definitive Hits jumped from 99 to 23 following his appearance at last Sunday's memorial concert, while fellow performer Rod Stewart charted at 16 with The Complete American Songbook 1-4. Puff Daddy's I'll Be Missing You re-entered the singles chart at 32 after he performed it at the Concert for Diana. Meanwhile pop veterans Crowded House, who begin a world tour later this year, are a new album entry at number three with Time on Earth.
